Job summary

Epsilon Associates, Inc. in Maynard, MA, is seeking a full-time staff scientist or engineer to join the Acoustics Group on licensing, permitting, and compliance projects. The hybrid position emphasizes field work and data analysis.

The successful candidate will assist with community sound level measurements, meteorological data collection, shadow flicker analyses for wind turbines, sound modeling, and report preparation, with travel as needed. Strong communication skills and a B.S./B.A.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of experience in a consulting environment.
• B.S./B.A. in Acoustics, Engineering, Environmental or Physical Sciences, or Physics.
• Experience with sound level measurement and meteorological equipment.
• Experience with ISO 9613-2 sound modeling software (CadnaA, SoundPLAN).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively on a multidisciplinary project team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with community sound level measurement programs.
• Assist with meteorological data collection and data analysis.
• Perform shadow flicker analyses for wind turbines and sound level modeling.
• Prepare reports and support field work as needed.
