Job summary

Kindred Hospital Aurora seeks an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean, safe hospital environment. You will handle cleaning duties across patient care areas, manage supplies, and support daily operations in a private-room, 37-bed long-term acute care setting.

Responsibilities include preparing cleaning solutions, floor care, restroom sanitation, waste handling, and furniture setup for meetings or events.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required (preferred).
• Must read, write and speak fluent English to understand cleaning instructions.
• Good attendance and reliable work ethic.
• Previous acute care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Select cleaning supplies and prepare solutions; load cart for transport.
• Clean assigned areas including walls, doors, fixtures and equipment.
• Sweep, mop floors and vacuum; spot-clean carpets as needed.
• Clean restrooms and replenish essentials; maintain sanitary conditions.
• Collect and remove trash; sanitize garbage cans and areas.
• May handle hazardous waste in a sealed container for sterilization.
• May transport soiled and cleaned linen; arrange furniture for events.
• Return unused supplies to closet; maintain orderly inventory.

Kindred Hospital Aurora

is an all-private room, 37-bed long-term acute care hospital offering the same in-depth care you would receive in a traditional hospital, but for an extended recovery period. We partner with your physician and offer 24-hour clinical care seven days a week so you can start your journey to wellness. We are located in Aurora on the east side of the Denver metroplex at the junction of I-225 at 6th Avenue; specifically, on the 2nd floor of the Medical Center of Aurora North building. We are best known for our wound care program, successful pulmonary outcomes and ventilator patient management.

Job Summary

Cleans and services building areas; moves furniture, equipment and supplies; and performs a variety of environmental services duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, safe and sanitary condition.

Essential Functions

• Selects cleaning materials/supplies and prepares cleaning solutions. Loads service cart and transports to work area.
• Cleans assigned area (including, but on limited to walls, doors, tile, fixtures, patient TVs and equipment) with germicidal cleaning solutions.
• Sweeps, mops floors and vacuums carpet. Spot cleans carpet using appropriate solutions.
• Cleans restrooms, vanity areas, showers and commodes, maintaining sanitary and odor free conditions. Replenishes essentials.
• Collects and removes trash, sanitizes all garbage cans and compactor area.
• May collect and transport hazardous waste in a special closed container for sterilization before disposal.
• May collect soiled linen and distribute clean linen.
• Arranges furniture for meetings, workshops and community affairs.
• Returns unused supplies to janitor closet ensuring all supplies are replaced in an orderly manner.

Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent including education equivalent to completion of secondary school or demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the role. (Preferred)

Pay Range

$18.81/Hr
