Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field. • 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment; experience in solar, semiconductor, or chemical manufacturing is highly preferred. • Knowledge of environmental permits (air, water, waste), hazardous materials, and cleanroom safety. • Strong understanding of ISO 14001/45001 systems. • Knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations. • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar certification • Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. • Experience working in ISO-9001 and ISO-14001 or equivalent • Experience with implementing or sustaining lean manufacturing practices • Solid understanding of safety management systems, risk assessment methodologies, regulatory compliance, and incident investigation techniques. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Out-of-the-box thinking to develop innovative safety protocols and processes.

Job Description

A partner of Insight Global is looking for an EHS Manager to join their team. The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing programs and policies to ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant workplace within a solar cell manufacturing facility. This role ensures that all federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations are met while promoting a strong safety culture among employees. Responsibilities : 1. Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs tailored to organizations manufacturing processes. 2. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001, and other relevant regulations and standards. 3. Lead risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and ergonomic reviews across all production areas. 4. Oversee hazardous waste management, chemical handling, air emissions, and wastewater discharge controls. 5. Conduct regular EHS audits, inspections, and drills; identify gaps and drive corrective actions. 6. Train employees and supervisors on EHS protocols, PPE usage, emergency response, and safe work practices. 7. Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses for workplace accidents and environmental releases. 8. Manage Safety Data Sheet (SDS) system and chemical inventory for materials used in production (e.g., silane, phosphine, solvents). 9. Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure EHS considerations in equipment and process changes. 10. Prepare and submit regulatory reports and maintain documentation as required by law. 11. Serve as liaison with regulatory agencies, insurance providers, and corporate EHS teams. 12. Safety Protocol Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive safety protocols and guidelines tailored to the unique requirements of our solar cell manufacturing facility. Continuously update and enhance these protocols to address evolving safety standards and industry regulations. 13. Hazard Identification and Analysis: Conduct regular assessments of the facility to identify potential hazards and evaluate their likelihood and severity. Recommend and implement appropriate control measures to minimize risks to employees' health and safety.
