Job summary

FPC of Savannah seeks an experienced EHS Manager to lead the development and implementation of transportation, security, environmental, health, and safety programs. You will oversee audits, reporting, training, and liaison with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance across operations.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or environmental health, at least five years in manufacturing EHS, and strong knowledge of EPA/OSHA regulations and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop procedures for environmental, health, safety, and security compliance with local, state, federal, and corporate requirements.
• Recommend actions and develop procedures for compliance with new and revised laws, rules, and regulations.
• Prepare and submit all required reports to regulatory agencies, maintaining all related records and documents, and interacting with agencies both verbally and in writing.
• Conduct internal audits for OSHA, wastewater, stormwater, hazardous waste, air programs, transportation, and training.
• Maintain current certifications and knowledge of the regulatory environment through workshops, seminars, and review of relevant literature.
• Act as the plant liaison with the local community, regulatory agencies, and other outside entities.
• Perform Job Hazard Analysis and statistical analysis of incidents and accidents.
• Develop and present training materials in accordance with CFR 29 (Parts 1910, 1903, 1904) and CFR 49 DOT.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Hazmat procedures.
• Manage and administer the security program.
• Oversee worker compensation programs.
• Manage property and casualty insurance auditing and reporting activities.
• Conduct safety orientations and safety meetings for employees, general contractors (GC), and subcontractors.
• Chair safety committee meetings to discuss issues, trends, and goals.
• Conduct meetings with third-party auditors.
• Respond to formal OSHA, DEP, EPA, and DOT investigations and participate in hearings.
• Oversee the first responder/medical emergency program.
• Perform required audits on disposal facilities and other contracted services where debris or waste is regulated.
• Maintain all permits in accordance with EPA, city, and county regulations. Perform annual audits of air and water permits to ensure continued compliance.
