Job summary

George Thomas is seeking an experienced EHS Manager for our 24/7 Spartanburg, SC manufacturing plant. You will lead safety programs, enforce regulatory compliance, and promote a strong safety culture.

The role requires 5–10 years in health and safety within manufacturing, a bachelor’s degree, and certifications in safety and environmental management. Travel as needed and responsibilities include workers' comp, incident investigations, and training.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of health & safety experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Certification in safety training and environmental management is preferred.
• Proficiency in Workers' Compensation management and familiarity with ISO standards.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe work environment and act as a safety role model.
• Lead emergency response efforts and manage regulatory changes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to safety standards.
• Address non-conformances and report safety issues promptly.
• Wear appropriate PPE and be prepared for travel as required.
• Lead safety committees and collaborate with stakeholders to improve safety practices.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs and monitor performance metrics.
• Utilize data to prioritize safety initiatives and support incident investigations.
• Manage Workers' Compensation cases and oversee the Learning Management System.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and manage hazardous waste programs.
• Investigate environmental incidents and implement corrective actions.
