Base pay range: $92,690.00/yr - $123,510.00/yr

Job Summary

The HSE Manager is responsible for the environmental, health, and safety performance at the Irvine plant, aiming to create an injury-free and environmentally sustainable workplace. This role serves as a subject matter expert, partnering with the Corporate HSE team to implement risk-based prevention programs, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies and fostering a safety-focused culture.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and execute HSE strategies, policies, and programs in collaboration with corporate and business unit teams to ensure compliance and standardization.
  2. Plan and implement short- and long-term facility initiatives balancing corporate goals and operational needs.
  3. Assess and manage HSE risks, conduct investigations, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  4. Lead facility support activities, including agency interactions, permitting, and regulatory compliance.
  5. Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.
  6. Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote best practices in HSE.
  7. Coach and develop facility HSE personnel and support hiring processes.
  8. Interpret and implement HSE regulations and develop company standards.
  9. Provide technical guidance and training to employees and management.
  10. Investigate incidents and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits.
  11. Maintain SQF documentation for certification processes.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of environmental or safety experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
  • Experience with environmental quality management, including air and hazardous waste, preferred.
  • Technical undergraduate degree in environmental engineering, occupational safety, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced environmental certifications (e.g., CHMM, PE) are a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations.
  • Ability to travel approximately 20% domestically.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Access.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
