Job summary

HTI is seeking a hands-on EHS Manager to lead environmental, health, and safety programs as the company moves into a new manufacturing facility. You will influence facility layout, guardings, and safety systems while driving a strong safety culture on the production floor.

The role requires 5+ years in EHS leadership within manufacturing, a relevant degree or equivalent with certifications, and strong OSHA/regulatory knowledge.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of EHS leadership in manufacturing
• Bachelor’s degree in EHS or related field, or equivalent with certifications
• Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements and environmental regulations
• Experience conducting risk assessments and implementing corrective actions
• Proven success in improving safety culture and employee engagement
• Strong communication across hourly, supervisory and leadership teams
• Ability to influence change without direct authority
• Proactive, self-directed with a strong production-floor presence
• Experience leading incident investigations and root cause analysis
• Experience with metals fabrication, facility relocations, or related ops preferred ( welding, lasers, cranes, presses, etc.)
• CSP certification is highly preferred; ASP and OSHA 30 valued

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental, health, and safety initiatives across the manufacturing operation
• Assess programs, identify gaps, and develop plans to achieve full OSHA and environmental compliance
• Support transition into a new facility, including relocation, installation, and recommissioning
• Provide EHS guidance on facility layout, guarding, and operational risk
• Manage environmental programs: air permits, wastewater, waste streams, and regulatory reporting
• Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, observations, and facility inspections
• Investigate incidents and determine root causes; oversee corrective actions
• Develop a safety training roadmap and coordinate OSHA and equipment-specific training
• Partner with operations and maintenance to develop practical safety solutions
• Lead safety committee meetings and boost employee participation
• Track EHS metrics and report progress to senior leadership
• Build a safety culture based on accountability, trust, visibility, and engagement

What You Need

• Five or more years of EHS leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
• Bachelor’s degree in EHS, occupational safety, environmental science, or a related field, or equivalent experience with applicable certifications
• Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements and environmental regulations
• Experience conducting risk assessments, identifying compliance gaps, and implementing corrective actions
• Proven success improving safety culture and increasing employee engagement
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills across hourly, supervisory, and leadership teams

• A proactive, self-directed approach with a strong presence on the production floor
• Experience leading incident investigations and root cause analysis

Experience with metals fabrication, facility relocations, or manufacturing operations involving welding, lasers, overhead cranes, presses, press brakes, shears, roll formers, rotating equipment, machine guarding, and confined spaces is strongly preferred.

CSP certification is highly preferred. ASP and OSHA 30 certifications are also valued.

What Your Role Will Look Like

• Lead environmental, health, and safety initiatives across the manufacturing operation
• Assess current programs, identify compliance gaps, and develop plans to achieve full OSHA and environmental compliance
• Support the transition into a new facility, including equipment decommissioning, relocation, installation, and recommissioning
• Provide EHS guidance on facility layout, equipment placement, guarding, and operational risk
• Manage environmental programs involving air permits, wastewater, waste streams, scrap, and regulatory reporting
• Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, observations, and facility inspections
• Investigate incidents and near misses, determine root causes, and oversee corrective actions
• Develop a safety training roadmap and coordinate OSHA, powered industrial truck, crane, emergency-response, and equipment-specific training
• Partner closely with operations and maintenance teams to develop practical safety solutions
• Lead safety committee meetings and encourage greater employee participation
• Track EHS metrics and communicate progress to senior leadership
• Build a safety culture based on accountability, trust, visibility, and employee engagement
