To support these priorities, we are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to oversee and direct the EHS function at our manufacturing facility. In this role, you will champion safety programs, ensure compliance with environmental regulations, and continuously work to drive safety performance across the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on local, regional, and federal regulations, as well as company EHS policies. Lead and manage plant-wide EHS programs to meet safety, environmental, and compliance objectives.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs including accident investigations, corrective actions, safety audits, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and hot work permits.
  • Conduct comprehensive EHS audits and lead risk assessments. Provide training on effective auditing/inspection techniques to identify risks and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Drive a culture of safety through continuous improvement initiatives, behavior-based safety programs, and a focus on achieving zero incidents.
  • Manage environmental programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., EPA, OSHA, state/local regulations). Oversee hazardous material storage, labeling, disposal, and waste management processes.
  • Develop and deliver training on EHS initiatives, including OSHA and environmental compliance programs. Ensure all employees are properly trained on safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Compile, prepare, and submit required reports to federal, state, and local agencies in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain knowledge of evolving regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the facility’s emergency contingency plan and serve as the point of contact for environmental, health, and safety-related inquiries from agencies, employees, and the community.
  • Monitor and track all EHS-related activities, identify areas for improvement, and recommend strategies to enhance overall environmental health and safety standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in an EHS role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience mentoring, coaching, and developing team members.
  • Expertise in EHS program development, project management, and training.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels, ensuring clarity of actions and expectations.
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and safety standards.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply statistical techniques to EHS data.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing principles and their application to EHS processes.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Working Conditions:

This position is exposed to occupational hazards, including but not limited to, chemicals; high noise levels; physical obstacles; high, narrow and confined areas. Employees are required to wear PPE including but not limited to appropriate safety glasses, hearing protection, clothing, and footwear in appropriate areas and follow safety practices.
