Movement Search & Delivery seeks an Environmental Health and Safety Manager for a 150-person facility in Cartersville, GA. You will lead safety and health initiatives, guide loss prevention programs, and ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate guidelines.

The role includes directing an EHS team and coordinating with OSHA audits. The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of safety management experience (manufacturing preferred) or a Master’s with 3–5 years, and ASP/CSP is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, or related field with 5–7 years’ safety management experience (manufacturing environment preferred).
• Master’s degree in Safety, engineering, or related field with 3–5 years’ safety management experience (manufacturing environment preferred).
• Functional Management of an EHS Team.
• ASP or CSP certification is preferred.

• Provide direction regarding implementation and maintenance of all health and safety programs.
• Assist in developing a management accountability system to prevent losses and define roles throughout the organization.
• Maintain a communication system to convey safety and health issues across the organization.
• Evaluate risks and develop guidelines for training, measurements, and rewards in safety, industrial hygiene, and related areas.
• Participate in accident prevention activities including inspections, observations, and investigations.
• Liaise with OSHA inspections and correspondence.

Movement Search & Delivery is working with a global manufacturing client to identify and evaluate an Environmental Health and Safety Manager for a 150 person facility in Cartersville, GA. This role will have 4 direct reports.

The role will be responsible for providing effective professional safety and health leadership to improve the industrial health and safety of all division employees located at location. You will provide direction, guidance and expertise regarding all safety and loss prevention programs. You will also ensure compliance with all federal, state, local and corporate safety guidelines. You will report directly to the General Manager with functional reporting relationship to the Director of Safety and Health.

• Assess current loss prevention and control efforts (in safety and health) and make recommendations to management for improvement.
• Provide direction and guidance regarding the implementation and maintenance of all health and safety related programs.
• Assist management with the strategic development and implementation of a management accountability system aimed at preventing and controlling losses by identifying and developing role definitions for all levels of the organization.
• Maintain a communication system to effectively communicate safety and health issues throughout the organization.
• Evaluate risks and develop guidelines for roles, training, measurements, and rewards for the management system in the areas of employee safety (behaviors, conditions that lead to accidents); industrial hygiene (noise, lead exposure, hazard communication, etc.); property protection (fire suppression systems, inspection procedures, etc.); post Injury and Workers Compensation Claims Management (all lines); OSHA compliance (lockout/tagout, confined space entry, fall protection, OSHA record keeping, etc.); contractors; and job safety analysis.
• Actively participates in accident prevention activities to include inspections, observations, and incident investigations.
• Act in an advisory capacity to management and liaison with OSHA inspections and correspondence.

REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, or other appropriate technical discipline and 5-7 years’ safety management experience (manufacturing environment preferred), or a Master’s Degree in Safety, engineering, or other appropriate technical discipline and 3-5 years’ safety management experience (manufacturing environment preferred).
• Functional Management of an EHS Team
• 3-5 years’ facilitation experience in problem solving, communication, quality improvement and other typical facilitation experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional applications are required.
• Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is preferred.
