Job summary

Ramboll is seeking an Environment and Consents Manager to discharge DCO requirements and manage secondary consents across major infrastructure projects. This predominantly site-based role involves coordinating with contractors, regulators and multidisciplinary teams to secure approvals and maintain environmental compliance.

You will oversee trackers, evidence packs and stakeholder communications while supporting design, land and programme changes to integrate consent requirements into project

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in environmental science, environmental management, planning, geography, engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience with DCO discharge, secondary consents and environmental permitting.
• Good understanding of UK environmental legislation and regulatory processes.
• Experience working on site with contractors and delivery teams.
• Strong written communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the management of DCO requirements, secondary consents and environmental compliance for infrastructure and development projects.
• Develop and maintain discharge trackers, consent registers, application packs and evidence bundles, and prepare stakeholder briefings, meeting notes and action plans.
• Engage regulators, statutory consultees, local and highways authorities, contractors and technical specialists to resolve consenting issues, drive approvals and maintain programme confidence.
• Review and interpret environmental permissions and translate commitments into practical controls, surveys and assurance checks.
• Provide on-site support to contractors and delivery teams, coordinating cross-disciplinary inputs and securing robust close-out evidence for compliance.
• Advise on design, land, methodology and programme changes, embedding consenting requirements into project schedules and assessing risks and opportunities.
• Contribute to proposals, budgets and delivery plans for consenting and environmental management, mentoring junior colleagues.
