Job Description

To provide a clean, safe, sanitary, and appealing environment at The Christ Hospital.

Responsibilities

EVS Staff Promotes Patient Safety

• Clean all patient areas daily with approved germicide and cleaning chemicals.
• Use wet floor signs or other caution alerts where slippery or hazardous conditions may exist.
• Follow infection control procedures, including proper hand washing, aseptic techniques, and PPE in all patient areas.
• Coordinate with hospital staff to ensure the best hospital experience.
• Maintain department policies regarding equipment placement and cleanliness of closets.

Cleaning and Sanitizing

• Clean patient rooms daily using proper chemicals and procedures.
• Clean non-patient areas such as nurses’ stations, offices, waiting rooms, restrooms, and ancillary areas.
• Perform terminal cleaning of patient rooms upon discharge to prepare for new admissions.

Customer Service

• Interact daily with patients, visitors, and staff, promoting a service-oriented attitude.
• Ensure rooms are cleaned to patient satisfaction daily.
• Use scripting to inquire if additional assistance is needed.
• Leave a housekeeper’s note in each room with contact information.
• Leave a discharge cleaning packet with name and hospital info in patient rooms.

Confidentiality

• Follow hospital policies and federal regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
• Complete annual safety and confidentiality training.

Basic Computer Knowledge

• Learn MS Office Outlook for emails.
• Pass required annual safety tests.
• Learn to use the NaviCare system for bed tracking.

Other Tasks as Required
