Job summary

UVMMC is seeking a Lead Environmental Services Worker to oversee the cleaning and overall appearance of patient care and public areas during the evening shift. You will supervise staff on a single shift in the absence of a Supervisor and coordinate routine assignments across Environmental Services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• The Lead Environmental Services Worker is responsible for the physical appearance and total environment of assigned areas.
• Position will execute and oversee cleaning duties of patient care areas, work areas and general public areas as assigned and for overseeing staff for one shift in the absence of a Supervisor.
• Position coordinates and assists with all routine assignments and activities of Environmental Services.
• Maintains and updates all staffing schedules, training requirements and PM project list.
• Establishes and maintains good communication with all department customers and monitors quality on a daily basis.

EDUCATION

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Level III program within one year of entry into the Lead role.

EXPERIENCE

• Has satisfactorily performed the job of Environmental Services Worker or equivalent in a health care setting.

Knowledge/Special Skills

• Health Care Environmental Services knowledge required.
• Working knowledge of E/S floor machines and typical housekeeping equipment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to train staff and present classroom materials.
• Basic familiarity with computers.
• Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.
