Trinity Rail is hiring an Entry Technician, Mobile Repair at our Vidor, TX site.

What you'll do:

• Conduct railcar inspections to ensure cars are in compliance.
• Perform repairs as necessary while always using current repair procedures.
• Meet the expectations and requirements of all customers to ensure we deliver exceptional customer experience.
• Ensure all necessary invoicing, inspection, and work order information is accurate and complete.
• Have the ability to pass any required NDT disciplines and function specific certifications, which may include tank car welding, and demonstrate strong familiarity with AAR rules and regulations.
• Actively participate in safety assessments, equipment inspections.
• Be able to perform confined space monitoring and create hot work permits.
• Follow all safety rules and practices.
• May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Ability to learn basic railcar knowledge.
• Ability to prepare cars for touch up or for other surface prep work, including masking of areas needed.
• Ability to do mechanical/assembly repairs to railcars.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to learn basic knowledge of how to read engineering drawings.
• Ability to pass DOT requirements is a plus.
• Understand and perform all work outlined under supervision.
• Any type of general labor, construction or manufacturing experience; railcar experience is a plus.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
