Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, quality inspection, or a related field.
  • Hands-on assembly experience required.
  • Basic reading of drawings, blueprints, or work instructions required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and quality recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspections and basic testing of plastic components and finished products.
  • Verify product dimensions and specifications using calipers, rulers, and gauges.
  • Read and interpret basic drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to confirm product requirements.
  • Record inspection results and quality data accurately.
  • Identify defects or quality concerns and communicate findings to QC and Production teams.
  • Assist in first article, in-process, and final inspections of manufactured plastic products.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the QC lab and inspection area.
  • Ensure testing and inspection equipment is maintained and calibrated.
  • Follow company safety procedures and manufacturing policies.

The Lab Technician supports the Quality Control team in a plastic manufacturing environment by inspecting raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals with hands-on assembly experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to read basic drawings or blueprints.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform visual inspections and basic testing of plastic components and finished products.
  • Verify product dimensions and specifications using measuring tools such as calipers, rulers, and gauges.
  • Read and interpret basic drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to confirm product requirements.
  • Record inspection results, test data, and quality documentation accurately.
  • Identify defects, nonconforming materials, or quality concerns and communicate findings to Quality and Production teams.
  • Assist in first article, in-process, and final inspections of manufactured plastic products.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the QC lab and inspection area.
  • Ensure testing and inspection equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Follow company safety procedures, quality standards, and manufacturing policies.

  • Familiarity with quality inspection techniques and measuring instruments.
  • Exposure to ISO or manufacturing quality systems.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to perform repetitive inspections and handle small plastic components.
  • Good visual acuity for defect identification and detailed inspection work.
