Job summary

Stella-Jones Corporation is seeking a QC Technician 1 to ensure materials meet industry, company, and customer specifications through inspections from raw material intake to post-treatment evaluation.

You will evaluate treated materials for compliance with standards such as AWPA, ANSI O5.1, CSA O15, CSA O80, and ASTM D25, and maintain inspection logs and reports to support corrective actions and traceability.

Qualifications

• Must have experience performing quality checks and inspections.
• Familiarity with industry standards (AWPA, ANSI O5.1, CSA O15, CSA O80, ASTM D25) is desirable.
• Ability to maintain inspection logs, assay forms, and rework/retention documentation.
• Proficiency in calibration and verification of lab and inspection equipment.

Responsibilities

• Post-Treatment Inspection: assess treated materials for compliance with standards and customer requirements.
• Identify nonconformances and coordinate disposition with production supervisors (rework, scrap, or escalation).
• Monitor critical treatment steps and verify moisture content and sterilization per procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, analyses, specifications, and correspondence.
