Entry Level Welder/Fabricator

Job summary

Oldcastle, a CRH company, Avon Manufacturing is looking for an experienced welder/fabricator to produce steel molds from customer blueprints. You will work with a team or independently from start to finish, upholding safety and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include fitting, installing fabricated structures, operating plasma cutters and welders, and maintaining clean, safe work areas. Prior welding experience or a trade school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• At least 1-3 years of welding/fabricating experience or successful completion of a welding trade school program.
• Experience reading blueprints from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Embody a strong safety culture by displaying and enforcing CRH/Oldcastle safety policies and procedures.
• Steel fabrication of heavy gauge materials and components under the supervision of Lead Welder and Foreman.
• Fitting, setting, and installing fabricated structures.
• Maintain shop housekeeping procedures to ensure safe and well-organized work areas.
• Overhead crane use, to include safety and proper rigging is necessary.
• Operating a variety of metalworking equipment (plasma cutters, oxyfuel torch, grinders, welders, drills, punches).
