Job summary

Oldcastle Infrastructure in Avon, CT, is seeking an entry level welder/fabricator to join a team manufacturing steel molds for precast concrete. You will work from blueprints and use metalworking equipment to fabricate and assemble components from start to finish.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and the ability to read shop drawings. Training is provided, with opportunities for growth within a supportive CRH family of companies.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years welding/fabricating experience or completed welding trade school.
• Capable of reading shop blueprints.
• Hand and power tool experience.
• Ability to read tape measure and perform shop math.
• Punctuality and reliability.
• Ability to stand/sit/kneel/crouch and lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Embody a strong safety culture by displaying and enforcing CRH/Oldcastle safety policies and procedures
• Steel fabrication of heavy gauge materials and components under the supervision of Lead Welder and Foreman
• Fitting, setting, and installing fabricated structures
• Maintain shop housekeeping procedures to ensure safe and well-organized work areas
• Overhead crane use, to include safety and proper rigging is necessary
• Operating a variety of metalworking equipment (plasma cutters, oxyfuel torch, grinders, welders, drills, punches)
