Job summary

Wisconsin Heavy Fabrication in Manitowoc, WI seeks an entry-level Assembler & Welder to support the fabrication and assembly of enclosure components under supervision. This role develops foundational welding and assembly skills, following work instructions to produce enclosure frames, panels, and subassemblies.

0–3 years experience preferred; basic MIG welding, blueprints and tape measure reading required; PPE and safety rules must be followed.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years experience in welding, fabrication, or mechanical assembly.
• Basic MIG welding proficiency; TIG or Stick exposure helpful.
• Able to read a tape measure and follow blueprints.
• Follow safety procedures and wear PPE (respirators as required).
• Willingness to learn and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with structural welding on enclosure components per drawings.
• Perform basic mechanical assembly and fit panels with hardware.
• Read blueprints and instructions to determine weld/assembly needs.
• Support material movement using cranes or rigging (training provided).
• Conduct visual weld checks and report defects for rework.
