Job summary

Hazen and Sawyer in Charlottesville, VA is seeking an entry-level engineer dedicated to water and wastewater infrastructure. You will assist in delivering engineering studies, condition assessments, and design reports, while managing data for modeling efforts.

You’ll participate in meetings with clients and teams and coordinate with manufacturers to select equipment. The role supports multiple projects from planning through construction, including fieldwork and site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental, civil, chemical, or mechanical engineering.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience within water/wastewater.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication, self-motivation, organization and attention to detail.
• EIT certification preferred; advanced degree encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing engineering deliverables including sampling studies, condition assessments, process modeling, hydraulics, and design reports.
• Manage data for process modeling and design.
• Attend client and internal project management meetings.
• Coordinate with manufacturers and vendors to select equipment.
• Support multiple projects from planning through construction.
• Participate in fieldwork and site visits (mostly in-state).
