Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, a leading multidisciplinary engineering firm, seeks an entry- to mid-level engineer to support design and analysis tasks in the Pittsburgh office. You will apply general engineering principles to interpret and coordinate projects within multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from an ABET-accredited program, 0-5 years of experience, and strong communication skills, with EIT certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from ABET accredited program.
• 0-5 years of experience in civil engineering or related field.
• Proficient in discipline specific design software (VMG Symmetry, Promax, DNV Phast) and Microsoft Office.
• Written and oral communication skills.
• Experience working with local clients at county/state level.
• Engineer-in-training certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with alternative studies
• Analyze P&IDs, drawings, equipment datasheets, aerial photography and other data to complete a task
• Perform design computations
• Assist in designing projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools
• Assist with developing the project quantities for construction cost estimate
• Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction
