Job summary

Dewberry Engineers Incorporated is seeking an Entry Level Water Resources Engineer to join our Water Engineering practice in our New York, NY office. This role offers a strong growth path and the chance to apply the latest technology to solving hydrologic and hydraulic problems, including water, sewer and stormwater design, flood resiliency studies, green infrastructure, and drainage analyses.

Qualifications

• Requires a B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or related field).
• 0–3 years of related experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS and models such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, Infoworks.
• Engineer in Training is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient with MS Office.
• Driving is a requirement; a clean driving record is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations and produce drawings for water resources projects.
• Perform field work when required.
• Perform hydraulic & hydrologic modeling.
• Assist in writing reports, presentations and related items.

Typical projects involve hydrologic and hydraulic modeling; data analysis, design of water, sewer and stormwater facilities; flood resiliency studies; green infrastructure; floodplain and drainage studies.

Required Skills & Required Experience

• B.S. Degree or higher in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or related Engineering field), with emphasis in water resources required
• 0 - 3 years related experience
• Knowledge/experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS and computer models such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, Infoworks
• Engineer in Training (preferred)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; and Proficiency in MS Office software
• Driving is a requirement of the position. A clean driving record is required.

The projected range for this position is $84,000 - $86,500 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
