Job summary

Eaton’s IS VEH VGGP division is seeking an entry‑level Validation & Verification Engineer in Michigan. The role involves planning and executing testing for transmission systems in commercial vehicles and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure reliable, high‑quality designs.

The position is hybrid with on-site work Tue–Thu at the Southfield, MI facility. Salary ranges from $71,000 to $84,000, based on skills and experience, with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
• 1–2 years of relevant engineering experience (Co‑op and internships acceptable) in product design, product testing or manufacturing.
• Eaton will not sponsor immigration sponsorship or support for CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans.
• No relocation benefit; only candidates within a 50‑mile radius of Southfield, MI will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform validation and verification testing at the unit, subsystem, and vehicle levels to fully validate requirements.
• Analyze vehicle test data to investigate, identify, and resolve issues and performance concerns.
• Perform/support vehicle modeling and simulation activities to predict performance and impact due to hardware variability.
• Develop test methods and perform testing of vehicle power transmission systems.
• Utilize problem‑solving skills to improve the performance and reliability of vehicle transmission systems.
• Utilize the FMEA process to enhance design robustness.
• Define and improve systems engineering standards and processes; contribute to industry papers and conferences.
