Department of Veterans Affairs in Columbia, SC seeks an entry level Utility Systems Helper to support the Boiler Plant, Engineering Control Center and Chiller Plant operations. The role provides hands-on training in operation and maintenance within a 24-hour utility environment.

Under supervision, you will learn boiler operation theory, trade practices and safety protocols, including LOTO and confined-space entry, while performing duties with training and supervision.

Competenze

• Entry level position in utility systems with on-the-job training.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and lockout/tagout concepts is developed on the job.
• Willingness to work in boiler and chiller plant environments and perform physically demanding tasks.

Mansioni

• Maintain and operate boiler and chiller plants as part of Engineering Service.
• Operate, maintain and repair state-of-the-art boiler and chilled water equipment.
• Learn boiler plant and chiller plant operations and steam systems under supervision.
