Qualifications

• Evidence of training or experience sufficient to perform the work.
• Credit for volunteer experience; helpful training translated to paid work.
• Full year of work is considered 35–40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Maintain computer literacy to use the station's engineering software.
• Receive general supervision on work schedules and procedures.
• Work alone most of the time; follow blueprints, drawings, or specifications.
• Duties span trades: electrical, construction, maintenance, air conditioning, welding, machining, pipefitting, boiler operation.
• Install, repair, and maintain heating boilers and domestic heating units and systems.
• Monitor flowmeters and charts to ensure steam production meets demand and fuel use is appropriate.
• Manage assignments from layout to final assembly.
• Work hours: 7:00am–3:30pm, Monday–Friday; may weld overhead or in unusual positions.
• May require ladders/scaffolding and handling weights up to 50 pounds.
