Job summary

Stake Center Locating is hiring entry level Locate Technicians to locate underground utilities, troubleshoot, and mark the ground using paint and flags. This is a field role with on-the-job training and 100% paid training.

You’ll work outdoors in all weather, use laptops to update tickets, read maps and blueprints, and communicate with homeowners and team members. The position starts at $22.00 per hour with overtime and benefits including PTO, holidays, a company vehicle, and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to walk up to 5 miles a day 2-3 times a week.
• Ability to carry up to 5 lbs of electronic locating equipment and lift up to 75 lbs with aids.
• Pass pre-employment background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Use a laptop to receive, document and process tickets and email.
• Read maps, interpret blueprints, and determine locating method.
• Use provided locate equipment to accurately locate underground utilities.
• Communicate effectively with peers, managers, and homeowners.
