Agile Underground Services, DBA GroundHawk is seeking a Utility Location Technician Trainee to join our GroundHawk division. This entry-level role trains you to identify, locate, and mark underground utilities while outdoors in varying conditions.

Under supervision, you will read maps, operate electronic detection equipment, document locate activity, and support project deadlines. A strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No prior utility locating experience required—training provided.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in various weather conditions.
• Ability to walk long distances, work on uneven terrain, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime or weekends as needed.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Assist in locating and marking underground utilities using company-provided equipment.
• Learn to read and interpret utility maps, prints, and work orders.
• Operate electromagnetic detection equipment under supervision.
• Accurately mark utilities using paint, flags, and other methods.
• Support completion of projects within required timeframes.
• Document locate activity and maintain records for each project.
• Follow safety policies and communicate field status to team.
