Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking entry-level and skilled trimmers and climbers to join a nationwide utility contractor known for its comprehensive benefits and competitive wages. The role involves outdoor tree trimming, climbing, and operating equipment to clear powerline rights-of-way.

We provide on-the-job training and opportunities to work in varied weather conditions, with a focus on safety and public/customer relations.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work with hands above head for extended periods.
• Must be able to walk, climb, and work from ladders, or at various heights, on uneven and slippery surfaces, performing mentally/physically demanding work under unfavorable weather conditions while handling equipment or material.
• Ability to obtain the knowledge to identify tree and shrub species.
• No fear of heights.
• Must have good hand-to-eye coordination.
• Willing and able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies, including holidays and weekends.
• Must be willing to join local union and pay union dues.

Responsibilities

• Trims and/or removes trees by climbing with ladders or using tools; drops or lowers branches with lines.
• Operates and services tools/equipment such as chainsaws, pruners, and bucket trucks.
• Plan, assign, direct, check, and coordinate work.
• Obtain access to property and explain work to property owners.
• Promote and maintain good customer relations and safe work areas.
• Load/unload materials and feed brush into woodchippers.
• Maintain tools, trucks, and work sites in good condition.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
