Job summary

Baxter & Woodman is seeking an entry-level Transportation Engineer to join our Orlando, Jacksonville or Fernandina Beach, FL offices. You will contribute to design engineering on transportation projects for state, county and local agencies, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualified candidates have a B.S. in Civil Engineering, internships in municipal transportation, and a willingness to travel across our service area.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.
• Relevant internship/co-op experience with municipal or highway agency transportation projects.
• Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s service area (own transportation).
• Independently handle a variety of ongoing tasks and responsibilities.
• Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
• Team-first culture that encourages development and achievement of goals.

Responsibilities

• Design Roadway, Underground Utility, and Infrastructure improvements using Bentley OpenRoads Designer.
• Conduct drainage, traffic, and various engineering studies.
• Complete general civil engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
• Complete engineering plans and specifications using FDOT Standards.
• Assist project engineers and managers with a wide variety of tasks required for project delivery.
