Job summary

Your future position Transportation Engineer I is based in Orlando, Jacksonville, or Fernandina Beach FL. You will join Baxter & Woodman on transportation projects for state, county, and local agencies, contributing to design, drainage, and traffic studies in a collaborative, multi-office environment.

Entry-level role emphasizes learning and developing skills with Bentley OpenRoads Designer, Civil3D, Geopak, and FDOT standards while traveling within the service area and supporting project

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering
• Must have internship/co-op experience with municipal or highway agency transportation projects
• Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s service area with own transportation
• Ability to independently handle a variety of ongoing tasks and responsibilities
• Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills
• Team-first culture that encourages individual development and accomplishment of goals

Responsibilities

• Design Roadway, Underground Utility and Infrastructure improvements using Bentley OpenRoads Designer
• Conduct drainage, traffic and various engineering studies
• Complete general civil engineering services for municipal, county and state clients
• Prepare engineering plans and specifications using FDOT standards
• Assist project engineers and managers with a wide variety of tasks for project delivery

About the role

Your Impact Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for an entry level Transportation Engineer in our Orlando Jacksonville or Fernandina Beach FL offices This position will primarily consist of design engineering efforts on a variety of transportation projects for State County and Local Agencies This team orientated position will include working with Baxter & Woodmans diverse disciplines and offices

What you will learn on the job

• Design Roadway Underground Utility and Infrastructure improvements using Bentley OpenRoads Designer
• Conduct drainage traffic and various engineering studies
• Complete general civil engineering services for municipal county and state clients
• Complete engineering plans and specifications using FDOT Standards

Education Requirement

• BS degree in Civil Engineering
• Must haves what you will bring Relevant internshipco op experience with municipal or highway agency transportation projects
• Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodmans service area own transportation

• Strong written verbal computer and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Anticipated FE Fundamentals of Engineering certification
• Knowledge of designing roadway and underground improvements with Civil3D or Bentley OpenRoads Designer
• Experience with Geopak

Compensation

The pay range for this role is 74000 to 77000 Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate including but not limited to skill set depth of experience and certifications
