Job summary

Fehr & Peers seeks an entry-level Transportation Engineer or Planner to build a strong professional foundation under experienced staff. You will gain exposure to transportation planning, engineering, and design projects while developing skills and confidence for career growth.

You will participate in transportation analyses, prepare reports, engage in meetings, and support project coordination. A collaborative, curious mindset and ongoing learning are essential to succeed here.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or in-progress master’s in transportation, civil or electrical engineering, urban and regional planning, or related field.
• An EIT is preferred for engineering candidates.
• Experience or exposure in transportation topic areas: field work, traffic operations analysis, signal design, planning, and related areas.
• Proficient with software: Excel; GIS; CAD; traffic ops tools; travel demand tools; Python/R.

Responsibilities

• Conduct transportation analysis and prepare reports, memos, and other technical deliverables.
• Prepare presentations and public outreach materials.
• Support project coordination and management activities.
• Engage with professional organizations and industry activities.
• Conduct site visits and collect field data.
• Explore opportunities to contribute to Fehr & Peers internal R&D program.
• Adopt new tools and technologies to enhance day-to-day work.
