Job summary

AMT is seeking an Entry Level Transportation Engineer to join the Towson, MD office. The position will start in January 2027 upon graduation, offering opportunities to work on challenging projects and advance within the Transportation team.

The role supports a variety of projects and may involve collaboration with other AMT offices. A hybrid (office/remote) schedule is available, and a competitive salary and benefits package are provided.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
• Engineering-in-Training Certification (or ability to obtain in 6-12 months) required.
• Prior internship or work experience preferred, experience with Municipal or State/US Department of Transportation projects a plus.
• Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD/Civil3D and/or Bentley Microstation/InRoads or Open Roads is preferred.
• Knowledge of civil engineering design and construction surveying concepts preferred.
• Experience with MS Office products including Word and Excel.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, project managers, supervisors, and other team members.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of projects which may involve collection of data, existing condition and alternative analysis evaluation for engineering reports.
• Development of horizontal and vertical alignments, performing cross-section and super-elevation design, roadway modeling, development of transportation infrastructure plans, computing quantity takeoffs.
