Job summary

DOWL is seeking an entry-level Transportation Designer 1 in Fairbanks, AK. The role focuses on basic engineering calculations, drafting, and design for sidewalks, bike paths, local roads, and highways under supervision.

You will work with licensed engineers, learning 2D/3D design concepts, and using AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation/OpenRoads. A bachelor’s degree and driving license are required for this on-site position in Alaska.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• EIT/EI within 6 months of hire.
• Valid driver's license required to support business purposes.
• Basic proficiency with drafting and design software.

Responsibilities

• Perform entry-level engineering calculations, design and drafting for transportation projects.
• Assist with site visits, CAD drafting, and 2D/3D design concepts.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates under supervision.
