Job summary

Pike Electric, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Class C Lineman Transmission to perform construction, maintenance and repair of transmission systems at various locations. The role may require travel to another state based on customer demands.

Responsibilities include stringing overhead wire, setting poles and anchors, and working safely around energized systems. Applicants should be able to lift heavy loads and work outdoors in varied weather.

Qualifications

• 1-year minimum of field experience.
• Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License permit within 60 days of employment.
• A Commercial Driver's License is preferred.
• Able to travel long distances on short notice, when required.
• Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
• Willing to work overtime when requested.
• Willingness to glove/work live high voltage transmission lines.

Responsibilities

• Work safely on construction, maintenance, or repair of energized and de-energized transmission work.
• String overhead wire and set poles and anchors.
• Maintain and inspect company vehicles, equipment and tools.
• Read and understand blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Work from an aerial device and assist with tower erection as needed.
• Learn transmission voltages and basic line stringing techniques.
• Assist in troubleshooting and respond to customer demands.
