Job summary

Pike Electric, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Transmission Equipment Operator to support construction, maintenance and repair of electrical transmission systems. You will work at various locations and may travel to another state as demanded by customers.

The role requires physical stamina and the ability to operate safely around energized and de-energized lines. Ideal candidates will read and communicate in English, be willing to obtain a CDL permit within 60 days, and tolerate overtime,

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience.
• Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days of employment.
• A Commercial Driver’s License is preferred.
• Able to travel long distances on short notice.
• Able to work for extended periods in various locations.
• Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
• Willing to work overtime and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Stringing overhead wire.
• Setting poles and anchors.
• Assists with installing transformers, lightning arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches and switchgear.
• Assists in replacing fuses in transformers and clears faulted circuits and systems.
• Capable of working with energized high voltage systems with caution for safety.
