Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineering, based in Raleigh, NC, seeks an Early Career Civil Engineer/Transmission Line Engineer to support substation, transmission and distribution projects from 12kV to 500kV, including EPC work for clients nationwide.

Ideal candidates will help establish and improve company standards and tools while developing technical and professional skills in a growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• BSCE from an accredited Engineering Institute.
• 3.0 cumulative GPA preferred.
• 0–2 years of experience in transmission or civil engineering roles.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively in a team to understand scope, prepare deliverables, and provide project updates.
• Perform cost-effective designs based on industry, company, and client standards.
• Generate transmission line design criteria for PLS-CADD.
• Build, modify and analyze transmission line, pole and tower models in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE and PLS-TOWER.
• Develop construction drawings, material specs, and loading packages for vendors.
• Prepare plan & profile drawings, phasing drawings, and standard installation specs.
• Travel occasionally for projects and attend internal/external meetings.
