Job summary

AEP in Ohio is seeking an entry-level engineer to support transmission modeling, facility ratings, and data systems. You will work under supervision on engineering data projects, develop dashboards, and automate processes.

Responsibilities include data quality validation, reporting, and collaboration with IT, operations, and external vendors. A Bachelor's in engineering and ABET accreditation are preferred, with potential for PE licensure in the future.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination is encouraged and preferred for PE licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for applications, databases, reports, dashboards, and automation solutions.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance software applications, scripts, APIs, and reports.
• Create and support SQL/Oracle queries to analyze data for engineering and leadership teams.
• Design and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions for transmission operations and compliance.
• Validate data, identify discrepancies, and coordinate corrective actions in TPS/ODMS tooling.
• Review relevant engineering records and outages for impacts on models and ratings.
• Perform root cause analysis to improve data quality and processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize TSOE applications and data systems.
• Provide SME knowledge on transmission modeling, facility ratings, and NERC standards.
