Job summary

AWP Safety in Oregon seeks a Protector to join a crew at various job sites. No experience or degree is required, and we provide training. You will set up cones, signs and barricades, guide traffic with a stop/slow paddle, and communicate with your team while keeping equipment clean and safe.

Expect year-round outdoor work, with some nights, weekends, or emergency shifts. PPE is provided, and candidates must bring steel-toe boots to work.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods.
• Able to lift 40–50 pounds.
• Willing to work in traffic and changing weather.
• Flexible schedule; Show up on time, every shift.
• Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test.
• Stay alert around moving traffic and follow all safety rules all the time.
• Treat coworkers, clients, and the public with respect.

Responsibilities

• Set up cones, signs and barricades and take traffic control equipment down.
• Use a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic and monitor job site activity.
• Follow all safety rules taught in training.
• Communicate with crew and supervisor.
• Help keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
• Work outside year-round, in all weather.
• Shifts may include nights, weekends or emergency work.
• May stand or walk 8–12 hours per shift.
• Hard hat, safety goggles, vest, whistle, radio and weather gear provided; steel‑toe boots required.
