Job summary

GCI Communications Corp is seeking a Field Service Technician I in Anchorage to install, service, and troubleshoot telecom equipment directly at customers’ homes or offices. You will work to ensure high-quality video, data, and voice services while representing the company’s standards and safety guidelines.

The role offers an entry-level path with hands-on training, company certifications, and opportunities to support senior technicians.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months in a technical role or related background.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Ability to lift and carry equipment and climb to work heights as required.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and troubleshoot telecom equipment from demarc to customer premises.
• Perform routine maintenance and operate RF/analog/microwave/fiber equipment.
• Communicate with customers on-site and promote additional services.
• Support senior technicians and mentor junior staff as needed.
• Maintain basic vehicle and stock, adhering to safety policies.
