Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an entry‑level Systems Engineer for its Sykesville, MD site. You’ll contribute to mission engineering by turning top‑level requirements into detailed system and subsystem specifications, while supporting architecture, design artifacts and verification planning.

The role emphasizes collaboration across teams and milestone reviews. Qualified applicants will have a relevant degree path (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in STEM and the ability to obtain a U.S.

Qualifications

• Be completing or has completed their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Be majoring in Systems Engineering, Math, Physics or a closely related STEM field.
• Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance; U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite.

Responsibilities

• Establishing mission vignettes and sensor/platform performance models to assess probability of detection and probability of engagement in mission engineering studies
• Interpret top level requirements to create system requirements and decompose into subsystem requirements in support of product design and verification planning
• Support system architecture development to address known customer needs through efficient and novel solutioning and generation of associated design artifacts including CONOPs, trade studies / analysis of alternatives, and definition and management of interfaces
• Establish and integrate components of a digital design thread
• Plan and execute integration, test, verification and validation
• Support the preparation of technical and programmatic data packages for presentation to program, company, and customer stakeholders for internal and external informal and milestone reviews
• Develop content and present during milestone reviews including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, CSR
