Job summary

Hennessey Engineers Inc. is seeking an Entry-Level Surveyor or Survey Technician for our Southgate, MI office.

The role blends field and office tasks, including construction staking, data collection, GPS, GIS mapping, LiDAR, and coordination across projects. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Surveying or Engineering or related experience, a valid driver's license, and familiarity with Civil 3D, Open Roads Designer, MicroStation, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying or Engineering or applicable experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Internship or practical surveying experience is a plus.
• Experience with MicroStation and Open Roads Designer is preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adjust and operate surveying instruments.
• Compile information necessary to stake projects for construction using engineering plans.
• Operate computerized data collection.
• Record survey measurements and descriptive data using notes, drawings, and sketches.
• Process survey data and create boundary, topographic, right-of-way, and as-built surveys with MicroStation and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
