Job summary

Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber is seeking a Surveyor for the Farmington Hills office. The role involves performing construction staking, field data collection, and boundary/topographic surveys. Independence on project sites and strong safety adherence are essential.

Applicants should have an associate degree in Surveying or Civil Engineering (bachelor’s preferred) and at least 3 years of related experience. Proficiency in Word/Excel and Civil 3D is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years of surveying experience.
• Ability to work independently on project sites with safety compliance.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel; strong detail orientation.

Responsibilities

• Adjust and operate modern survey equipment.
• Read and interpret construction plans for staking and layout.
• Record survey measurements and descriptive data.
• Perform property research and collect field data for boundary surveys.
• Process survey data and create boundary, topographic, right-of-way, and as-built surveys for AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Report to a Senior Professional Land Surveyor.
