Job summary

Hennessey Engineers is seeking an entry-level CADD Technician to assist in creating engineering drawings for MDOT and municipal projects across Michigan. You will work with civil engineers, surveyors, and construction staff to develop traffic plans and roadway details.

The role emphasizes learning MDOT standards, plan development, and QA/QC processes, with opportunities for growth toward advanced CADD production and project delivery as you gain experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in CADD or civil engineering technology or related field.
• 0–3 years of civil engineering CADD production experience.
• Ability to read and understand civil plans, profiles, details, and specs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and revise engineering drawings, plan sheets, and details using MicroStation and/or OpenRoads Designer.
• Assist engineers in MDOT maintaining traffic plans and roadway plans.
• Incorporate field survey data into design drawings with accuracy.
• Maintain CADD files per MDOT standards and QA/QC procedures.
• Prepare plan revisions and respond to comments from engineers and clients.
• Support plan sets for MDOT and municipal projects from concept to final submission.
