Job summary

Hennessey Engineers is seeking an Entry-Level Surveyor or Survey Technician to join our Southgate, MI office. The role combines field and office work, including construction staking, data collection, GPS/GIS tasks, and LiDAR data collection, with a focus on accuracy and safety.

Ideal candidates have knowledge of modern survey methods and experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD Civil 3D, plus a Bachelor’s degree or applicable internship experience and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in surveying or engineering.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Experience as an intern surveying is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adjust and operate surveying instruments.
• Stake projects for construction using engineering plans.
• Operate computerized data collection.
• Record survey measurements and data with notes, drawings, and sketches.
• Process survey data and create boundary, topographic, right‑of‑way, and as‑built surveys with MicroStation and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
