Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah is seeking an Apprentice Structural Mechanic for a full-time, first-shift role. This entry-level program trains you in aircraft structural assembly, with mentorship and hands-on practice on riviting, drilling, and part fitting.

You will learn to read blueprints and work orders, assemble parts with fixtures, and progressively take on more responsibility as you gain experience, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required. Entry level position. Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Essential communication skills include read, write, speak, and understand English, and listening and keyboard skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform fitting of detail parts and basic drilling and riveting operations using basic mechanic hand tools.
• Ensure parts and work content meet instructions from assigned manufacturing employee and/or Quality Control Inspector.
• Read work orders, blueprints, and specification sheets to determine sequence of operation and work requirements.
• Align and assemble parts to be riveted using holding fixtures, pins, clamps and fasteners.
• Observe and assist to become familiar with parts and assemblies, then work with decreasing supervision as experience is gained.
