Job summary

Black & Veatch invites entry-level Structural Engineer (Transmission Line) candidates to join our Phoenix team. You will contribute to structural design and analysis for transmission line projects, while gaining hands-on experience across disciplines.

A bachelor’s degree in engineering and readiness for onboarding are required. Chosen candidates will work in a hybrid environment with relocation flexibility and opportunities to learn BV design standards and procedures on diverse infrastructure

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search) where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Develop familiarity with departmental design guides, standards, systems, engineering codes and BV policies.
• Supports continuous improvement and change management efforts.
• Contributes to preparation of less complex engineering deliverables (drawings, reports, specs, studies).
• Performs routine research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
• Collects, assimilates, and manages data for engineering work.
• Prepares basic engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
• Understands and adheres to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Shares information with others and coordinates with project leadership.
• Focuses on internal clients while understanding external drivers.
• Shares current knowledge of latest technology and processes.
