Responsibilities

  1. Perform structural engineering design under supervision of experienced engineers.
  2. Conduct basic structural analysis and detailing for plans and specifications.
  3. Collaborate with CADD technicians to develop structural design presentations.
  4. Prepare quantity take-offs for estimating construction costs.
  5. Review construction submittals for structural items.
  6. Research technical topics as directed.
  7. Assist in improving structural design standards, specifications, and details.
  8. Plan and monitor tasks for effective production.
  9. Review work for discrepancies.
  10. Track work details for discussion and resolution.
  11. Develop technical knowledge and skills.
  12. Maintain professionalism with team members.
  13. Communicate effectively, presenting information clearly.
  14. Implement company and client technical standards.
  15. Build and maintain relationships within the project team.
  16. Travel as required, including site visits during construction and operation.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering with Structural Emphasis from an ABET-accredited program.
  2. 0-3 years of experience in structural engineering.
  3. Coursework in Statics, Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials, Structural analysis, and design using reinforced concrete, steel, and masonry.
  4. Engineer-in-Training Certification.
  5. Knowledge of Structural design codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, ACI 530, and AISC standards.
  6. Understanding of geotechnical issues and foundation design.
  7. Ability to interpret construction drawings and use structural analysis software.
  8. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  9. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.

Pay Range

$70,000 to $85,000 annually, based on factors such as education, experience, and location. Compensation may vary.
