KPFF Seattle’s Structural Team is seeking an Entry Level Structural Engineering Designer to dive into real-world projects from day one. You'll work with licensed engineers to analyze and design building components, contribute to BIM models, and coordinate with drafters and multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• ABET accredited master's degree with emphasis on structural engineering (MSCE/MSE).
• 0–4 years’ experience working under a licensed professional engineer.
• Coursework familiarity with reinforced concrete, structural steel, wood, masonry, and/or post-tensioned concrete for building structures.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience while learning directly from licensed structural engineers.
• Perform structural analysis and design of building components and systems using industry-standard software under supervision.
• Contribute to the development of 3-D BIM models and construction documents including communicating with project drafters, structural detailing, and multidisciplinary BIM coordination.
• Apply core engineering principles and advanced mathematical techniques to tackle real-world challenges.
• Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Build expertise in navigating building and material-specific codes, while aligning with KPFF’s and our clients’ standards and practices.
• Join client meetings and site visits to gain exposure to project development and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• An ABET accredited master's degree with an emphasis on structural engineering (MSCE/MSE)
• 0-4 years’ experience working under a licensed professional engineer
• Coursework and/or familiarity with reinforced concrete, structural steel, wood, masonry, and/or post-tensioned concrete for primarily building structures

Additional Information

Physical Demands:

• Duties are primarily conducted in a standard office setting, requiring prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or computer table.
• Occasionally may be required to lift objects weighing up to 15 lbs.
• Occasionally visiting project and construction sites may involve walking, standing, kneeling, or navigating uneven terrain.
• Traveling to project sites or client meetings, which may involve driving or flying.

Compensation:

The base salary for this role is competitive and will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, and skills. The expected range for a qualified candidate is$81,000 - $105,000 annually.
