Valmont Industries, Inc. seeks an Associate Engineer to join the Valley Facility team. The role focuses on the structural analysis and design of standard utility products, ensuring safety, cost objectives and customer specs are met. Work with senior engineers, drafting, sales, and manufacturing to deliver compliant designs.

You will analyze using FEA, apply codes, and help translate requirements into manufacturable solutions while supporting project timelines and engineering deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required (0-2 years experience).
• Technical competence in structural engineering and familiarity with industry codes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to analyze problems, manage deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design using FEA and other software.
• Apply engineering principles and industry codes to designs.
• Interpret customer specs and translate to manufacturable designs.
• Provide engineering support to drafting, sales, quoting and project teams.
• Communicate technical information to internal stakeholders and customers.
• Assist with engineering-related pricing and quotation activities.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure producibility and cost efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes and team effectiveness.
