Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to perform decontamination, inspection, packaging, sterilization, and distribution of reusable medical devices across the hospital.

You will operate washers and sterilizers, inspect for cleanliness, assemble trays, and maintain instrument tracking, while following regulatory and safety standards. A High School Diploma and 1–2 years in a healthcare setting are required, with CRCST or CSPDT credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage and distribution of reusable medical devices.
• Operates sterile processing equipment per IFU and regulatory requirements.
• Inspects instruments for cleanliness and function; identifies items needing repair or replacement.
• Assembles instrument trays and procedure sets according to standard tray listings.
• Maintains instrument tracking and inventory to support operations.
• Transports instruments and supplies to care areas as needed.
• Communicates equipment malfunctions and safety concerns to appropriate staff.
• Complies with regulatory and infection prevention standards and participates in training.
