Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Central Sterile Technician for the Newton-Wellesley Hospital site in Newton, MA. The role supports sterile processing in a healthcare setting with day shifts and a 40-hour work week, onsite at 2014 Washington Street.

Responsibilities include receiving used instruments, loading sterilizers, performing quality checks, managing inventory, and maintaining equipment. CRCST certification is preferred; 1–2 years of experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CRCST certification preferred.
• 1–2 years of central sterile experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive used medical instruments and equipment from operating rooms or other departments.
• Load prepared instruments and equipment into sterilizers, following prescribed loading patterns and protocols.
• Conduct regular quality checks of instruments, equipment, and packaging materials to ensure sterilization standards.
• Assist with managing inventory levels, including receiving, inspecting, and restocking sterile supplies.
• Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot sterilization equipment and instrumentation.
• Provide guidance and training to less experienced sterile processing technicians.
